Biographical Details

Dan was born in Plymouth and has lived the greater part of his life in the village of Yealmpton, where he is currently Chairman of the Parish Council. In 2019, he was elected to South Hams District Council as Ward Member for Newton and Yealmpton and followed this up in May 2021 with his election to the County Council, representing the Division of South Brent and Yealmpton. Much of the north of the division sits on the southern hinterland of the moor.

A former General Manager at Plymouth Argyle, Dan is now a primary school teacher, though juggling with his various Local Authority responsibilities means that he now works on a part-time basis as a supply teacher, predominantly in inner city Plymouth.

Married with 3 children, Dan and his family spend as much time as possible on the moor or local beaches, enjoying the stunning scenario that Devon affords. He is passionate about listening to the views of local people in informing decisions that directly affect them.
