Creative writing competition for under 17s
This year we're celebrating 75 years of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act.
75 years ago this ground breaking law described as the 'People's charter for open air' was passed through Parliament leading to the creation of the UK's first National Park. Created a year after the founding of the NHS, National Parks were intended to be our 'Natural Health Service'.
Now we're looking to the future, and we want to know what Dartmoor means to the next generation.
If you, or someone you know, is aged between 5 - 17, enter our competition and your writing could be featured in our 2025 Enjoy Dartmoor magazine.
What should I write?
It doesn't need to be long, we're only looking for up to 50 words.
Here are some pointers to help you out....
- What does Dartmoor mean to you?
- What do you see for National Parks in the next 75 years?
- What is your favourite thing about Dartmoor?
- How does getting out in open spaces make you feel?
Got some photos or drawings? Feel free to add them too - we'd love to see them.
