Celebrating 75 Years
2024 is the 75th anniversary of the National Park and Access to Countryside Act 1949. This act established a National Park Commission and made provision for National Parks and nature reserves.
It made further provision for the recording, creation, maintenance and improvement of public paths and secured access to open country and protected landscapes for the nation to enjoy.
