Independent Person Mrs Catherine Shewan

Catherine is a solicitor and currently works for the Solicitors Regulation Authority as an Investigation Officer. She has previously worked with solicitors in the South West monitoring compliance and assessing claims and complaints.   She has been a legal adviser to the Mendip District Council Standards Committee.  She previously sat as a Lay and Legally Qualified Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute Disciplinary Committee and was a member of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner's Independent Residents Panel.

Catherine lives in the Tamar Valley and enjoys exploring Dartmoor with her family.
