Getting there: The Arboretum has its own car park. On reaching Burrator Dam (from the south) follow the road to your left keeping the reservoir on your right. Drive past the Burrator Discovery Centre, follow road around the lake (clockwise), over Norsworthy Bridge, past Norsworthy Bridge car park and continue round the bend until you reach the Arboretum car park on your left.

  1. From the car park, access site through the gate and follow gravel path.
  2. Follow path around to left initially to access circular or figure-of-eight routes around the arboretum.
  3. Exit site by the same gate back into the car park.

  • Burrator Arboretum is home to several species of dragonfly.
  • The ponds make this area a unique wetland ecosystem, home to a diverse range of species.
  • The Arboretum and footpaths were created in the late 1980s following storms.
  • Along this route you will find information boards, benches, a pond dipping platform and a boardwalk.

  • Public toilets just south of the dam are open seven days a week.
  • There is no mobile phone reception around the reservoir.
  • An ice cream van is regularly based on busy days near the dam and in the car park at Norsworthy Bridge.
