Getting there: Yarner Wood has its own car park. From Bovey Tracey take the B3387 towards Manaton (taking care not to take left fork to Haytor) After about 1.5 miles you will see the Yarner Wood car park signs on the left. Follow the tarmac driveway for 300m (passing cottages on right hand side) to the car park and the NNR office.

Facilities: There is a public toilet with disabled facilities at the NNR office located at Yarner Wood car park. Information board, benches, pond dipping platform, wooden gazebo shelter and boardwalk. Accessible bird hide at bottom end of car park.

Directions

Follow this anti-clockwise route to avoid steep uphill sections

1.  From top end of the car park (above office) go through the gate (next to the cattle grid) and follow the gravel path gently uphill.

2. Follow path upstream, cross the bridge and bear right until wooden gazebo is reached (300m)

3. From gazebo carry on uphill slightly and then bear left along level path.

4. Follow this path until the main track is reached at the other wooden bird hide.

5. Turn left here and head back downhill, through the gate and turn left to start of walk at the car park.
